About the Artist

Bending Grid is an Independent Electronic Musician from Summerville, South Carolina, focusing on the Synthwave, Retrowave, and Popwave genres. His musical, lyrical, and visual storytelling is set to captivate audiences in unexpected ways.

He was born in the US and attended school overseas at the prestigious Hull Grammar School and Pocklington School of East Yorkshire, England.  It was here that he first developed an interest in electronic music due to exposure and its popularity in the country.  This was back in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s in the heyday of Trance, House, and DnB music.

His passion for 80's music, however, led to collecting synthesizers from that era.  These were used to play along with his favorite 80's songs.  Some of his influences here include Wham!, Billy Ocean, a-ha, Naked Eyes, Peter Gabriel, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Toto, Phil Collins, Mr. Mister, Lionel Richie, and Men at Work.

He stumbled upon Synthwave purely by accident in 2021 and was so excited about this discovery that he decided to join the movement. Finally, those 80’s synthesizers could shake off the dust and bring life back into listeners ears.  He articulates his ideas through careful incorporation of the 80's decade sounds he so cherishes, but with an imaginative, reformed approach.

He collaborated with Jimmy Brixton and released the single "7 Days A Week (Bending Grid Rework)" in June 2022, which was shortly followed his debut Synthwave EP "Bending Grid" in July, 2022. Several music videos were released in tandem.

A Halloween themed cover song of Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" was produced featuring his own vocals and that of Frida BM.  Releases on Friday September 30th, 2022.

We hear other flavors making their way into his music inspired by Darkwave, Darksynth, Cybersynth, Chillwave, Outrun, Vaporwave, Synthpop, Dreamwave, Retrowave, Classic 80's pop, and others.

He strives to produce exciting content and is humble to his followers.
